4th of July Camping
The 4th of July is an incredibly fun holiday to get out and enjoy some camping! Jellystone Park™ Pelahatchie invites you and the family to join our 4th of July camping festivities happening July 1st-3rd! We’ll be cramming as much as possible into this weekend with activities, pool parties, cookouts, socials, and much more!
Show us what you can do with red, white, and blue. Decorate your golf cart or bike for our 4th of July parade around the park, and decorate your campsite for our Independence Day site decorating contest. While you’re at it, get a little creative with your camping snacks and try some of these fun patriotic food ideas!
4th of July Camping Food Ideas
All American Salad (A.K.A. Watermelon Feta Salad with Blueberries)
Toss cut watermelon, fresh blueberries, and crumbled Feta together. Then sprinkle on chopped, fresh mint leaves and drizzle a bit of white wine vinegar and honey to this melody. You’re in for a symphony of flavor!
Patriotic Punch
Be the cool kid on the campground block with this multilayered refreshing and oh so sweet 4th of July camping drink. First, fill a glass with ice, and then fill the glass halfway with Ocean Spray Cran-Apple juice. Next, pour blue Hawaiian Punch on top of the red layer. The secret to the layer effect has to do with the sugar content: the beverage with the highest sugar content falls to the bottom and the lightest stays on the top.
Red, White, and Blue Sweets
The kiddos will enjoy making these yummy, striped white chocolate and sprinkle-covered strawberries! All that’s required are strawberries, melted white chocolate, and blue sprinkles. To make, first, clean your strawberries and melt the white chocolate. Next, have the kids help dip each strawberry in the melted white chocolate before dipping the tips in blue sprinkles. Finally, refrigerate or enjoy on the spot!
